This policy explains what personal data Nexus Freelancing LLC (“Nexus,” “we,” or “us”) collects when you use the Service, why we collect it, the legal bases we rely on, who we share it with, and how to exercise your rights. Short version: we collect what we need to run a safe marketplace, we do not sell your data, and payment card details go directly to Stripe, not to us.
The data controller for the Service is Nexus Freelancing LLC, a limited liability company organized in Wyoming, United States, with its registered-agent address at 30 N Gould St Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States (registered agent — not an operating office). You can reach the controller about anything in this policy — data-protection requests and legal or policy matters alike — at contact@nexus-freelancing.com (our monitored front door; a subject line like “Privacy request” routes it fastest). These identity details also appear permanently in the site footer, as good e-commerce practice requires.
Nexus is established in the United States, outside the European Union, and Jamaica is our launch market. Where the GDPR applies because we offer services to people in the EU/EEA, we are assessing whether an Article 27 EU representative is required and will publish their name and address here and in the Terms if one is appointed; until then, contact@nexus-freelancing.com handles all EU/EEA data-protection requests directly, to the one-month response standard described below.
Our providers (Supabase, Stripe, Google, the CDN hosts above) may process your data outside your country, including in the United States. Where the GDPR applies, such transfers are covered by an adequacy decision (the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, for certified recipients) or by Standard Contractual Clauses in our data-processing agreements with those providers.
You can ask for a copy of the safeguards that apply to a specific provider at contact@nexus-freelancing.com.
We use automated risk signals (for example, signup/login patterns and rate-limit data) to flag accounts for review, and automated ranking to order search results (see “Search ranking transparency” in the Terms). Flagging and ranking are inputs to human review and to published rules — they are not fully automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effect on you.
Where a decision about your account is ever taken by solely automated means with significant effect, you have the right to request human intervention, to express your point of view, and to contest the decision (GDPR Art. 22). Contact contact@nexus-freelancing.com.
We keep personal data only for as long as the purpose requires:
Retention can be extended by pending disputes, unpaid obligations, or legal holds. Deleted data is removed from active systems and persists only in encrypted backups until rotated out (typically within 30 days). When you request deletion (available from your account settings), we apply the above and confirm completion.
Depending on where you live (and, under the GDPR, for all EU/EEA users) you have the right to: access your data; correct it; export it in a portable format; restrict or object to certain processing; delete it; and withdraw consent at any time for processing that was based on consent (withdrawal does not affect prior lawful processing).
To exercise any right, contact contact@nexus-freelancing.com. We verify identity before fulfilling requests and respond within one month (extendable by two further months for complex requests, with notice, as the GDPR permits). Our support is free of charge for reasonable requests.
If you believe we have mishandled your data, you can lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority — in the EU/EEA, the authority of your country of residence, work, or the place of the alleged infringement. We would appreciate the chance to resolve the issue first, but contacting the authority is your right.
We use industry-standard safeguards: encryption in transit (TLS), hashed passwords, server-side authorization on every sensitive operation, row-level security on the database, signed webhook verification for payment events, rate limiting, and regular security audits. No system is 100% secure; if we discover a breach affecting you, we will notify you and the competent authorities as required by law (within 72 hours to the supervisory authority where the GDPR applies to the breach).
The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in-app and/or by email with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy; consent-based processing only takes effect after the relevant consent is collected.
